I rounded up a bunch of websites that allow you to create a blog and host it on their website for free of charge. Now you too can have your own blog and brag about it.
But . . . . What Exactly is a blog ? A blog can be anything you want it to be , in the vague definition it is a online journal/diary. Since the past 10 years blogs has given the ability for anyone to express their voice and opinion from politics to what is the best video gaming system out there today.
~It is fun to be able to share your experiences and thoughts online to your friends. Just remember it’s not the best place in the world to keep your secrets a secret on a public site on the interweb-highway !
The best part about the blog hosts that I have found is that it is insanely easy to setup & FREE <– 
Top 10 Best Free Blog-Host-Providers
- Blogger – This is one of the more popular widely used blog hosts. Litterally millions of users !! They are free , offer heavy customization as well as themes. Just google the term “Blogger templates” and you’ll see what I’m talking about. Almost forgot to mention that they have street cred to since they are part of Google!
- Xanga - This is another popular online blog host which caters to a younger audience such as high schoolers. It is not as customizable as blogger which may not be such a bad thing if you want to write something quick and easy without worrying about re-arranging this and that.
- LiveJournal - This is another great quality blog host that does not charge you a penny. I have personally used it and liked it a lot but it is similar to Xanga that it is not 100% customizable but in my opinion is a notch above Xanga.
- Wordpress – Wordpress is the the mecca of blogging origins. If you go on their site and look on the bottom, you can see well known media company names that depend upon wordpress like the New York Times or Yahoo. The great thing about wordpress is that it allows you to host and customize virutally anything. Any first time users will really want to create an account with them to get things rolling.
- Tumblr – Now I have not used Tumblr so I would be lying to say that I have first experience. But from what I have noticed most recently is that a lot of great websites out there use the Tumblr platform for blogging. It also looks to be quite as versatile as Wordpress. Check it out!
- Weebly - Next up is a website / blog-host called Weebly. It is not well known but it does look promising as it offers free blog hosting and other tools to support you with.
- Blog.com – Such an original name , and blunt to the point. I like that , don’t you ? At least it doesn’t sound like a weedwacker compared to the others. This website also follows the suit in offering free webhosting as well as support to help you create your own blog. Setting up an account doesn’t take too long either. So take advantage now !
- Thoughts – At the eighth spot I listed Thoughts as another blogging hosting provider. I haven’t checked it out too much. This is definatly great for those of you who want something a little less mainstream.
- Experience-Projects – Here is another provider for a person to start blogging away.
- Free-Blog-It – Seems to be another promising website to lend bloggers a helping hand.
There were other websites out there to offer free weblogs but I found that they were either not good enough overall ( in support and tools for the user’s end) or they just were simply too niched targeted. Like blogs for pregnat women for example , EL-OH-EL

Worst free blog host providers are http://www.blog.ca/ http://www.blog.de/
Beware, writing and editing is difficult. They would change your text appearance each time you switch from HTML editing to text editing.
http://www.blog.ca/ and http://www.blog.de/ are the worst because they do not automatically pinpoint or fix HTML mistakes. They just give you an error message. Then you have to find a mistake manually: it's like finding a needle in a haystack
They would send you all kinds of reminders to log in regularly. And if you don't, they would delete your blog and you lose all the info.
The worst free blog host provider is blog.de
blog.ca is the worst free blog provider
Beware of these too, it's from one company: blog.fr blog.co.uk blog.com.es blogs.se blogs.fi blogs.no blogs.dk
The best, easiest, user friendly is spaces.live.com

I went searching for a free web host and I actually found very reliable hosting at an extremely competitive rate. The best part is they offer compensation, this way I don't have to come out of pocket for the products that I need. I actually come out on top every month which in my opinion is 1000x better than free.

WordPress is either overloaded or bogus. I tried signing up twice with them in the last 1.5 months. I got more Spam that I can really use … not … and I didn’t get the userid and blog.

I can’t believe more people don’t know about XOOMblogs.com. I’ve been using them for a while. Free Wordpress sites. It’s fast and the support seems to be excellent. They’ve added every plugin and theme that I’ve requested. Check it out if you’re sick of wordpress.com.

hey this is a useful site the layout is great. the only problem is that i want to start a blog, but im using my school laptop, which has all these types of sites blocked, it’s a miricle your website isnt blocked. can you please list just ONE blog hosting website which will not be blocked on my computer?

That might be a tough one , you should search about proxies or try going to proxy ninja that may help. If you can afford your own server then you could always remote connection your way in.

I like Blogger best. Could it be, you mixed up Blogger and WP? WordPress is in my opinion very restrictive when it comes to adding widgets other than its own. On Blogger, you can add a shoutbox without any problems, on WP you cannot. If you blog about music, for example, WP does not embed DivShare player on the page: you have to link to it. Also, posting pics is a rather tedious affair on WP, while at Blogger’s it’s less complicated. WP, on the other hand offers a host of themes/templates which Blogger does not. (There are many free templates for Blogger blogs available on the net, however.)
All in all, as a music blogger, I find WP overly restrictive and tedious to manage. In addition, I noticed that some of the answers at the “support department” were kind of short and unfriendly … This is just my personal opinion, though.

Blog.com is the worst free blog host I have ever used.
Want to add a counter like Statcounter for your stats? Not with Blog.com!
Want to embed a YouTube video like every other blog host? Not with Blog.com!
Want the blog to allow photos in posts without distorting them AND adding duplicates? Not with Blog.com!
I have a counter-free, video-free, image-free blog at Blog.com where they say they *MIGHT NOT* delete your blog for inactivity if you have enough posts, but only if they feel like it.
Thanks, but I’ll stick to Blogger.com and Wordpress.com from now on.
